- Can I have my home or business unit systems inspected?

Answer: Yes, Sentry offers unit system inspections, which are much like a home inspection, but for your systems.

- How much will the inspection cost?

Answer: It is $149 for one system and $50 for each additional system you have inspected.

- Some of the rooms in my house are warmer or colder than others. Why?

Answer: Your heating and air conditioning system may be improperly sized for your home or your duct system was not designed for the proper airflow to reach every room in your house.

- How long do heating and air conditioning equipment generally last?

Answer: Depending on the brand of the equipment, timely maintenance and many other factors, they can last from 6-15 years. After that, the performance of the equipment drops but the operating costs rise.

- What is zoning?

Answer: Zoning is a temperature controlled automatic damper system that allows you to divide your home into separate areas (zones). This gives you the ability to only heat and cool the areas in your home that are occupied. Zoning results in very little wasted energy and longer equipment life.

- Do you offer financing for equipment replacements?

Answer: Yes. Sentry offers financing through several sources including Carrier, Alabama Power Company, and Alagasco.

- How often should I have my heating and cooling system serviced?

Answer: It is best to have your heating system tuned up in the fall and your cooling system in the spring before heavy use occurs. Sentry’s Comfort Guard Maintenance Agreement will assure you that these very important tune ups don’t slip your mind.

- How often should I change my air filters?

Answer: Sentry recommends that you replace your filter every 30 days. This can vary, depending on your systemand filter model. Sentry offers higher quality air purification systems, which require replacing 2 time per year rather than 12.
